I disagree (not a CEO). What’s the median worker at a company like Walmart or Amazon paid? To think that a CEO of those couldn’t improve (or degrade) the company’s performance by many thousand times more than a Walmart or Amazon worker seem

What?! I know hundreds of people who have had it, and only one I know went to the hospital. Zero died. I’ve had it three times. Zero hospital visits. One was “bad cold”; one was “mild cold”; the last was “would have never known I had anythi

The IFR (infection fatality rate: the chance of dying for an individual who contracted COVID) is under 1%. That’s a small minority by any reasonable measure, especially in a thread comparing it to the plague.

“Beat it, grandma! We have better ideas on how to use the land and house you raised a family in!” is unlikely to be a winning campaign platform. (Thankfully.)

I ran Hackintoshes for many years. Performance on a $1500-2000 Intel platform was always extremely good (certainly better than any Mac I was willing to shell out for and sometimes better than any Mac that was sold).

There is a market for land plus improvements. What you actually paid in 2016 is presumably the market value of that combination. You probably referred to other similar parcels that had recently sold when contemplating your offer as well. It

I don’t think a land value tax is a good idea, because I’ve never heard a satisfactory way to objectively value the land as-if unimproved. But making you and I pay a different amount of LVT on the same exact piece of land definitely makes i

People buy cheap[er] houses near airports and then try to get airport ops changed/restricted all the time . (I agree with you, but it’s obviously a thing that people have no problem doing.)
