What about some sort of state-funded guidance counselor that is required before you sign the paperwork to go to college? Or heck maybe force the colleges to pay for it.

Great comment. I found these problems in myself as I transitioned into management years ago. I was blocking good changes... These days I try to just be a tie-breaker for the team, instead of laying out the plan and looking for "feedb

A team lead position on a team that has autonomy is also a good place to be as a generalist. It's where I see myself providing the most value to my company. I've had some opportunities to move up to Director+ but blegh.

You're saving more than 50% of your pre-tax money? That is impressive and unusual. I guess from that savings rate and the fact you only make 70k that you are fairly young with no kids? How much do you pay for rent/mortgage?

I just got a new 30k Kia for 2.2% with 5k bonus cash. They also offered 0% and 3k bonus cash but taking the extra cash was better for me.

If that's really such a waste then where are all the remote-only companies eating everybody's lunch? Has it not yet been long enough since remote working has reached some workable peak?

So optimize away the chores? In my case, marrying a woman who wanted to be a stay at home mom worked pretty well. I'd rather be working than doing chores, she'd rather stay home and feel productive cleaning the house, and we&#x27
