Github now uses the lexer framework from TextMate and SublimeText. If your language community happens to use those editors, then you are fine. For Racket 99% uses either DrRacket or Emacs. This implies that the lexer deployed is very rudi

A normal Racket file is a straight forward text file. In Flappy Bird I used inline images, as in (define bird <the-bird-image-here> ) This makes it simple to distribute the source and images as a single file, but unfortunately the

If you want an html-page that works offline, then MathJax is rather large. In that case it makes sense to generate pdfs or svgs containing the formulas. Otherwise using MathJax from a CDN is quite convenient. On mobile rendering a page with

There is already a couple of packages for Racket that prerenders formulas in TeX into various graphic formats (they call LaTeX to the rendering). It is straightforward to use these from Pollen.

"Lisp in Small Pieces" is very well-written. It will teach you a lot about how to compile (subsets) of Scheme. If you decide to compile a Pascal-like language, I can't recommend "Brinch Hansen on Pascal Compilers"
