Don't take this as a trolling question, but I can't help but wonder if this sentiment towards AI generated art and creativity is similar to how a chef might feel about shrink wrapped frozen food factories. Just like how a frozen m

The hands issue is going to be an awesome story for all of us in 10-20 years. The younger generation just won’t fathom how hard it was to get proper hands. I wonder what a parallel comparable now would be? Something the slightly technical

Slightly off topic. I’ve been looking for an easier way to replace the text in these ai generated images. I found Facebook is working on it with their TextStyleBrush - https://ai.facebook.com/blog/ai-can-now-emulate-tex

It’s an amount that likely covers the first visit. People that have struggled in the past will already know the benefits and the service. People newly disaffected will be reluctant to “just go” so the 300 bucks takes that off the table. If&

I agree 100% My high school had a phlebotomy track after you took anatomy physiology and I was able to get good enough to get my first job at Scott & White here in Texas. I then used those skills to work 30 hours a weekend (Friday - Sun

I wonder how much light is blocked by this stuff floating around? Seems like there are parallel efforts to make atmospheric dust while this is already up there.

I use this and have pushed it to my project managers as a way of getting some insight to code and more specifically code changes that we are making and need to explain to clients.

This is right. Sure they can hire the new person but they are immediately in breach of the services contract. Sometimes the breach is with it. The non solicitation clauses are not about stifling employee personal growth. They are about prot

I’d love to see a checklist but the other side of the table. When a developer is going to leave and you have two weeks. What’s the checklist for handoff on a granular prioritized level. Do you start from front end and work backwards or from

We have a process where we strip out the text of PDFs and shove in to elastic. The lambda starts by counting the pages and if it’s 250 or less it handles the job. If it’s larger than that we make the lambda kick the job to a temp ec2 instan

It’s not what you asked for exactly but I’ve had good success with this product https://www.topazlabs.com/video-enhance-ai Sometimes it drops the audio channel but it’s not too bad getting it added back in.

Great points! “You have no job security, even if you think you do” This is a 100% true for consultants as well as agencies. Now matter how “partnery” things feel you are always as good as your last billable hour. When COVID started we got a
