Note that while this was true about software, there is also hardware (FPGA HDL), such as the MacPlus-miSTer core[0]. 0. https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/MacPlus_MiSTer

That sounds pretty bad, as it's 4.5 generations (sandy/ivy bridge, haswell+refresh and broadwell). Fortunately, it doesn't matter anymore; Moved that 7900gre to my new machine (Ryzen 9800x3d + 2x 48G DDR5 w/ECC).

Great project, but emphasis on Almost[0]. It will not work in the one computer where I need it; On Haswell, 32GB RAM + 16GB BAR is currently not possible[1]. 0. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/Common-

I am hopeful whatever better compression doesn't end up multiplying memory requirements, or increase burden on cpu, especially on decompression. Now, PNG datatype for AmigaOS will need upgrading.

I wonder if I am alone in thinking 5yr is way too short. It should be 10, if not 20 years. This is software, not hardware. It is ridiculous to pretend it is ok for a phone to artificially stop being useful after just 5 years simply because

At a glance, it does not seem like they fixed the main issue with what they forked: Not being able to set up arbitrary targets. I run my own instances for a few of the services they redirect to, and need to be able to point to these.

Why highlight A500's blitter? the original 1985 Amiga 1000 had a near-identical blitter, just different package. The first significant change was the ECS blitter much latter.

The 16bit one also looks fun[0] and would run on old PCs the new one does not. Have you considered open sourcing that one? 0. https://krusty.space/projects/rourexos/

Last I checked (easily been a decade) it had a major limitation in not supporting Unicode. I wonder if this was ever resolved.

An EU DNS resolution server, so that the EU can: - Censor: So they can refuse to solve a name, or solve to whatever address they mandate. - Log: So that you can get criminally prosecuted for having requested resolution of names at any point

While very convenient to quickly link some ancient draft spec, let's try and stick to the actual ratified specifications[0]. Of course, the rationale is still there in section 2.4 of the current (20250508) ratified version of The RISC-
