My wife is an avid Pandora user, recently there's been ads from Adam & Eve on the service. It's been fantastic to sit down and eat dinner as a family, then hear an ad for a sex shop play after a couple of songs. It's not

Embedding Chromium is easy, embedding Gecko is....not. I'm guessing that's about where it started and ended, TBH.

You can register as “unaffiliated”, but depending on your state what options you have for voting in primaries depends on your affiliation. Some states only allow you to vote in the primary for your affiliated party, others let you pick one

Here in the US it’s incredibly easy to find where anybody lives if they are registered to vote. You can plunk my name into the Idaho voter website and it will spit my address out, no fuss.

It doesn’t HAVE to be, I can manually edit my yum configs and specify the mirror - but using MM and Metalink means it automatically gets used.

Calling them ancient is a bit unfair, they regularly backport hardware support and select other features from newer kernels. Unlike other distributions, however, they have a stable kernel ABI for an entire release, so they can’t bring in

There’s no questional legality, and end-user can do whatever they want with GPL software. As long as the modules aren’t bundled with the kernel or on the same media the GPL is perfectly happy with the arrangement.

Yes, the mirror is configured as private and is only served to machines in my IP range - since it’s on the internal network it does nobody else good to have access.

Fedora handles this use case beautifully with MirrorManager, which includes the EPEL repos as well. All of the logic is server side, when a yum/dnf client connects to the Metalink server to fetch a mirror list from our IP block it gets

You mean use (X)SFP(+), not “use fiber”. The SFP+ copper twinax cables I use in my lab at home have lower latency than the majority of MMF/SMF transceivers on the market.

ARM server platforms are moving to adopt standard firmware solutions like UEFI (yes, UEFI sucks in many ways - but A standard is better than what we have now) to start alleviating the device tree madness, just don’t hold your breath on it
