From the fact sheet I found it’s mostly making sure the OS is configured for sleep by default and a minimum 80+ gold rated PSU if you have a 600W+ unit. Knowing Dell, it’s probably the power supply not meeting 80+ gold efficiency. EDIT: I g

Do note that wasabi is aimed for long-term retention of cold data. There's no egress, but there is a fair usage policy (2x data stored IIRC).

There’s no “switch” (yet), the C3 is their new MCU with a RISC-V core, but they will be continuing to manufacture their Xtensa-based designs for some time.

Aye, none of the devs on my team want to deal with infrastructure - they want to push their code and have it go to production. I deal with all that garbage so they don’t have to. I think the title “DevOps Engineer” is a bit of a misnomer, t

This really gets me - my Ryzen 5 1600X and my wife’s Ryzen 5 2600 are still extremely capable chips, even if they’re a couple of generations old at this point. It’s only been 3 years since I built my rig, and two since I built my wife’s. I

NVMe is just a protocol for accessing flash memory over PCIe express, do not confuse it with the M.2 form factor (which also supports SATA and USB!). My Optane P900 I use as a ZFS log device is NVMe and plugs into a standard PCIe slot on my

It’s also not the worst way of making sure new chips get supported relatively quickly. Those “giant” header files are mechanically generated from the RTL source for each GPU, it’s not like it’s some horrendously inefficient bloat form an ou

For a lot of hobbies involving electronics having a decent soldering station (and possibly a decent hot air station) is extremely useful. A Hakko FX-888D isn’t terribly expensive, but even a Pinecil or TS-100 will get you far for cheap.

Yes, using the backup API you could load on on-disk database into memory and then do the reverse to a temp file and atomically move it to replace the saved copy. There’s even an example of using the backup API for this on the SQLite website
