Well PRQL sits on top of SQL so building a good SQL interface is the first step to supporting PRQL at this point. You can then easily add PRQL on top.

I'd be interested to hear what you see as your closest competition?

It's a valid concern. I'm also working on a similar tool (which I'm not ready to reveal yet) and you're quite right. Only time will tell I guess.

It's nice but I think D2 is nicer. I'm waiting for D2 to be open sourced and going that more tools will adopt it then, like mermaid and diagram.

Thanks. Looks very interesting! My main observation just looking at your example pictures is that its closest competitor is Gaussian Processes which I've long been a fan of. Just looking at those pictures it looks like GP and TabPFN ar

Have a look at PRQL (www.prql-lang.org)! That's exactly what it's aiming to provide.

What about Localstack? I haven't used it myself yet but discovered it the other day and want to use it for a test harness for an application I'm building. https://hub.docker.com/r/localstack/localstack

Credit Suisse strategist Zoltan Pozsar has found a new level of fame over the last year, arguing that we're witnessing the birth of a new currency regime that he calls "Bretton Woods 3.0". In this new era, the centrality of t

I found this tweet from Andy Grove and in the linked benchmarks DataFusion is just behind DuckDB. https://twitter.com/andygrove_io/status/1559920848882073600?...

How do people see Apache DataFusion fitting into this space? I've also been following DuckDB for a while and remain very excited about it. I've only recently become aware of DataFusion and am building a small project with it but I

I have to agree with the OP (_dain_) here. Excel has evolved a lot in the last few years, first the whole Power Query and Power Pivot revolution and now all the functional stuff brought on by Simon Peyton-Jones and his crew like LET express

Not sure if it's in the same league but in South Africa we have considered towing icebergs to Cape Town as a possible water supply as recently as 2019. From the article I see that in the past that's something they considered for S

You could have something like import strutils{split, trim} similar to how rust does things. What would be the problem with that?

Thank you. That is my single biggest gripe about nim as well. If you believe, as I do, that code is read more than it is written, then this becomes a big deal. Clearly readability is important to nim's design so this departure from tha

As you said, let the Database Engine do the hard work of optimizing the query plan for you. I currently have no reason to believe that the PRQL generated SQL would be any worse than hand written SQL. That said, I don't think we've
