OT: What are the rules for forming the abbreviated forms of the German laws? For example [1] lists Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz abbreviated as RflEttÜAÜG. I've receently had to deal with some German f

Related question: are there there any algorithms / optimizations for probabilistic programming in an online context? What i mean is that I have a model and I've run my inference on my historical data. Now I have new observations s

Have a look at PRQL [1] for analytical queries. That's exactly what it's designed for. Disclaimer: I'm a contributor. That said. I like Logica and Datalog. For me the main use case is "recursive" queries as they are

That's called parimutuel being and the broker just takes a vig (vigorish). It's analogous to agency based trading in finance. The broker can also set the odds and act as a market maker, like principal based trading in finance.

Do you have anything public on this or similar to this? I'm also a fan of Power Query and M-lang and think it's underappreciated by the dev community. Why did you use PQ in that instance?

How tightly coupled are the React app and the Rust backend? I hope the backend engine can be used standalone embedded in other apps.

What would be quite cool would be a small utility that one can run over ones workooks and that produces a csv or json file of all the Excel functions used and their count. People could submit those and you'd get real usage stats of wha

Awesome project! Looking forward to following this. I've been looking out for projects like this over the years and I'm glad to see that this one takes Excel compatibility seriously! Also love the choice of Rust and WASM! For me D

Agree with your comment. I almost didn't click on it because I wouldn't be interested in a C# or .Net project and was very pleasantly surprised. I don't love the name.

Also, I never fully grokked Differential Dataflow but I get DBSP so I would love an explanation of how Differential Dataflow differs from DBSP.

Love this project! Since "Differential Dataflow" has a specific meaning though and this isn't it, I wonder if a different title wouldn't be better? "DBSP for the masses" presumes someone already knows what DBSP

Not directly, but DuckDB, ClickHouse, and GlareDB all support PRQL and they each have CLIs. In a previous HN comment [1] I showed how you can leverage PRQL to make your RDBM's JSON functionality more ergonomic. For example ```sh
