I honestly hope that most "thinking people" look poorly upon fanatics of either party, but I hope you can concede that there are "thinking people" among both. The Democratic party just panders to different special-interest groups.

Well, as a competing anecdote, I don't know anyone who has Parkinson's. And I haven't heard anyone I talk to in person say they know someone with Parkinson's.

I see your point, but I personally use a regular wooden dining chair with the back removed, and I find it very easy to slouch into a "C" shape anyway. I have to continually remind myself to sit up.

It's too bad they don't have locking wheels like on some pieces of wheeled furniture. Also, many times the wheels are removable, though I don't know if such chairs are meant to be used without the wheels.

I wonder if high sugar intake could be the common cause for both problems.

For a while I used Qwerty for insert mode and Dvorak for command mode, but eventually I ended up using Dvorak for everything. My particular hand pain didn't show up until years after I took up Dvorak. My problem is mainly with my pinky fi

I've been using a Dvorak layout for about 7 years now. I converted for efficiency; at that time I had no wrist or hand problems. Within the last couple years, intense typing sessions have give me lasting pain in my hands (mostly emanating

Can you provide references that would allow a researcher to educate himself? I'm genuinely interested, and there seem to be lots of fields that use software in experimentation and simulation but where there isn't much emphasis or education

I wouldn't say that the medical profession uses as a "dead" language that is "no longer under active development". In fact, they invent new words in it all the time.

Is it just me, or do most of these cubicles not seem that bad? From what I've seen, they're pretty standard. Maybe grad school has just ensured that my workspace standards are low.

I really enjoyed this article. Yes it's long, but too many of the articles posted here are too short (really, too lacking in content). This isn't another flashy title with three paragraphs behind it.
