What makes "zavarka" so important is that it's easy to measure how concentrated you want your tea to be. It's more difficult to achieve with a teabag. Though, I must note, hardly anyone here makes zavarka anymore.

I don't see anything revolutionary or extremely interesting and useful here. (a + b) is the same as (b + a). Anyone remembers this link when someone made a prototype of a desktop interface that you could manipulate by all of your 10 fingers

I really like Carlin. But what has always struck me in his attitude is that he claimed he didn't see and didn't want to find any solutions to the problems he was talking about. Maybe it has something to do with the age differences. People i

When someone talks about Linux problems with fonts rendering now, I get really confused. I worked on Win/Mac/Linux (currently using Macbook and Ubuntu Desktop) and I have to say Linux has the best font rendering. Compare this: http://dl.dr

I would also suggest that it'd be hard to find a coding co-founder. More often than not they don't really like guys like you. At least personally I wouldn't go for it. Many reasons - one is that I would certainly have a disagreement with yo

Make a painless iPhone (and for some folks - Android) + GMail sync and I'll probably pay you $10. Although, I can still sync iPhone contacts with GMail (using a payed app because MS Exchange integration is a pain in the ass), so I'm not sur

Great idea. Although the hovering mechanism is quite confusing. For some reason if the mouse is over one picture, the second one on the same line gets animated. Then the animation does not start immediately, there's a small delay, which is

As you can imagine, pulling data from another apps would take time to implement. Especially because there are so many apps out there. Personally, I'm not sure it would make sense, at least at the moment. Or do you think it would?

We'll see how it goes. We're going to use it ourselves and work on it a bit. If we see that more people are using it, we'll start reviewing suggestions and will be ready to invest more time into developing it.

That seems like a great app, but unfortunately it lacks the main feature that we needed - two representations of the same todo list, synced with each other. Plus, does your app has a sharing feature? I liked your search-while-typing feature

Ok, I hear you. "Delete" button completely deletes the task from the list (from the db, if you wish). "Done" button just marks it as done and you can see it if you click the link "View dddone tasks too!" - although for some technical reason

What do you mean? There are only delete buttons in the right column tasks. If you click "done" in the left column though, the task automatically becomes "completed" in both columns.

Okay, points taken, they sound valid. Although the problem for me is, I can't take your word for it. I wish there was some research on it with some real data. That would rule out any speculation. For now, there'd be mostly subjective views

1. I disagree. The number of partners has to do a lot with the depth of any given relationship. The reasonable analogy is learning a skill. The more time you spend on it, the better you become. The more time you dedicate to other discipline

Personally, I think there's nothing wrong with polyamory. Whatever blows your skirt up. Biologically speaking, men wants to inseminate as much women as he can. I also accept the author's point about freedom and different kind of experience

unDRY code is a problem for me in JavaScript probably because I don't have too much experience. The point is: you can write DRY code in js, it's just not as easy as in Ruby. Also, here's an example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30773

I'm not sure if you asking exactly this, but here's what I'll tell you. We're building a frontend interface for our webapp now (almost finished) and I have to say it's a difficult design task, in terms of code, of course. The truth is that
