This is why I love Lucia. They took the "teach a man to fish" route when they converted to a docs only approach. Now I've got my own auth system and understand a lot more about security.

I've always like Ben Franklin's 13 virtues. It's a short list. TEMPERANCE. Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation. SILENCE. Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation. ORDER. Let all y

This is a little disingenuous. As far as I know, v3 isn't going anywhere. There's what... weeks until May 2025, which would be four years? 4 years in JavaScript land is actually pretty long. Zod has a pretty good maintenance recor

I just launched the beta for Table Slayer. It lets you build animated maps for in person RPG games (DnD, Pathfinder...etc) where you have a digital table top. It's built on Svelte + Turso + websockets. The video here best shows it off.

Well. I think that's sort of what I like about Svelte. There's a lot less opportunity to make bad decisions.

I'm almost finished with a large, complex app written with Svelte 5, web sockets and Threlte (Three JS) [0]. Previously, I'd written React for about a decade, mostly on the UI side of things. I vastly prefer Svelte, because of how

Has anyone worked in a "two crews" system where there wasn't resentment? Or where people didn't want to naturally migrate to the "future crew". I like the idea of this on paper. I have a hard time believing it

There was a brief period of time where having one of these 3D cards in quake led to a pretty heavy advantage for gamers. I can very clearly remember installing the card and then loading up 2Fort4 in the Team Fortress mod and suddenly being

Hey Eric! I think of you whenever I open Python documentation and see some of my old work! That's good to know that at least I'm not crazy for also open sourcing the billing code. I feel less worried.

Open source just gives away the code, without setting up resources for the people who work on it. If I charge for the service, which is owned by the members, I could presumably pay upkeep (hosting, dedicated workers...etc). As far as I know

That's interesting, but I was thinking something possibly even farther. That the members of the co-op are the people that pay for the SaaS itself. Essentially the yearly fee is "dues" towards the organization.
