Debian is not Windows. Debian is a well-tested collection of frozen-in-time packages that receive backported security fixes (an approach that does not scale to applications the size of Chromium and Firefox). Debian doesn't have to do a

Does Steam fix the Terraria issues? When I used to play video games, I never noticed that it acted weird on Linux (even in Wayland or with a tiling window manager).

Another victim of the expertsexchange problem. It's unfortunate because hyphens really should be avoided in URLs. For the last couple of domain names I've registered, I made sure to put the potential names into the "Detect la

Have there been recorded cases of police forcing people to unlock encrypted phones of protesters in the US? I would feel pretty safe with my iPhone in airplane mode (with all the radios off).

If I remember correctly, Xfinity Stream used Flash as a fallback when Widevine was unavailable. I just use the iPad app now.

WebAssign dropped Flash (at least for Chemistry) last year, including the fancy organic molecule input system. I haven’t seen Flash in any of the online courses I’ve taken since 2016 or so (and some of those sites are pretty archaic).

I'm guessing the iPhone 8 has some other issue (full storage?). Mine has had great performance and no app crashes since I bought it.

If you're already a heavy keyboard shortcut user (especially the control+arrow keys on macOS), the touchpad gestures might not seem as useful. However, they are intuitive and natural in a way that keyboard shortcuts aren't, in my

They did have a Mac Pro there as a prop, which was interesting and potentially confusing. There was a brief moment where you could see that it was connected to something in a Mac mini case.

Agreed. I think this is especially likely given their decision to increase the battery size in the iPhone 11 lineup last year.

The first guy in the "lab" scene (Johny maybe?) mentioned plenty of other "techy" terms. I think that they want to distance themselves from other ARM manufacturers and put the focus on Apple's advantages over Qualco

I'm curious: what websites have ads that an iOS adblocker can't block? I've had very good luck with Ka-Block! on my iPhone. There are some others with user-editable blocklists.

Yes. It appears that Rosetta 2 beats Microsoft's x86 emulation by a long shot. I wonder how they're avoiding Intel patents.

Because their iPhone chips are so obscenely powerful, MBPs are famous for running super hot, and they can make much better margins this way. Consolidating onto a single CPU and GPU platform is nice for developers as well. We’ll have to wait

Boot Camp does not work with Linux on Intel Macs, so the question in this case would be whether the low-level bootloader would allow unsigned/third-party code or whether it would be locked-down like on iOS devices.

Given that my iPhone's A11 Bionic beats my desktop's i5-7400 on Geekbench's single-core benchmark, I would expect that a newer desktop-optimized Apple chip would destroy most Intel laptop chips.
