We need a law that says that CEOs and C-suite writ large and board members can't receive stock/options/RSU. Otherwise, we'll always be stuck in Goodhart's law. Maybe they make enough already and don't need bonu

Agreed, the best argument for most people is the fixed payment for housing. As time goes on, your income will grow but your payment won't (minus taxes). Additionally, you are paying for tomorrow's housing at today's pricing.

Everyone isn't going to switch over in 1 month or even 1 year. There will be a slow progression. We never have "doubts" that the grid can actually handle the demand when for each new 200+ person development we build. I'm

I think that is what most people want.. However, I don't know how to make that self-sufficient let alone profitable .. People want free and free means ads and ads means click-bait/faux outrage/addiction. The old model was thi

I really really really wish that Apple would always use DHCP and get an open IP instead of assuming their last one is still good just so they can say they connect to WiFi 100 ms faster than anyone else. It is so infuriating and causes all

Very interesting. Does this imply (assuming these jets have been occurring for a very very long time) that we'd be able to see the consequences of other jets in other galaxies/planets? Said another way, have we ever observed s

It seems like this use case would be pretty easy to detect and disable. There should be a way to give a fuzzy location to give you a general idea of which geo-fence you left something. Only authorized via warrant LE should be always able se

Release it how? They can't load it on an iPhone without Apple's cert. The only path would be to require jail breaking and most consumers trust that even less.

Thinking, Fast and Slow is also what I came to say. There is a lot of insight in how all of our thoughts are anchored in some way. Once you understand that, you understand the power of introspection which is our one true super power. Everyo

I don't think any company would ever get into that space. RIAA (etc) will come after them for not verifying that each user has a license for everything song uploaded. The best the community could probably do is have a 1-click AWS insta

I agree this is weird. I guess it is meant to highlight the other party wants to get rid of social security. It is strange though to take credit for not doing something that someone else says they will do in the future.

Voting machines should only ever be used to automate counting of votes. They should never mark the voting sheet. Having the physical paper lets us easily recount or reverify. If it was marked erroneously, all is lost.

We should outlaw ARM for most people. It should only be for "accredited borrows" like we do for investing. People who don't really understand the risks get screwed and it creates unnecessary bubbles.
