I think you are being too charitable. While there is some selection bias where people who have stories of police are more likely to report bad ones, most people get by by simply not interacting with the police. The problem is a lot of legit

So, technically, the government can't do illegal things. People working for the government do illegal things, and as they are functioning outside of their commission when they commit those crimes, they are not covered by sovereign immu

4 of the 6 explicit criteria given are not inherently sexual in nature, and only 2 of those 4 are in any way related to violence (but even harassing is not necessarily violent, so it may be 1). Like I said, the only case law that exists rel

It is true, and some Chinese production lines are truly feats of engineering. However, it's a little tricky to determine whether this is really Chinese values and engineering or the values and engineering they have imported from othe

I agree that a lot of show breeds are not humane endeavors but there are lots of working breeds as well. Making it illegal to "kill puppies" with no exception means the breeds we have will be more or less the breeds we will have f

Ehh, I think that is a dangerous view. It could be used for other purposes, like as an intermediate reactant or for research. Similar thinking is why it is so hard to conduct chemistry or microbiology research as a normal person. Obviously

I see no reason that whether material is objectionable only applies to pornography. However typically when someone tries to call something not pornography objectionable whatever the case is about is thrown out, eventually, on first amendm

Mozilla is full of either cowards or sellouts. When the page visibility API was added to Firefox for Android and used to automatically pause nonvisible YouTube pages they ignored user arguments for blocking it.

He kind of has a point, though -- I agree the right to travel does not specify a specific mode of travel and should cover planes, but then pretty much everything that goes on w.r.t. planes and cars is unconstitutional. (Consider that while

You pive in a bubble of people who went to university. A lot of people who attend in the US wouldn't be able to go in a lot of EU countries due rationing.

They're definitely not that clean. The wires are just shoved in there. Maybe not will some high end Dell servers. You can do the same in your builds, too -- only time it matters is if you're ricing a uATX case. It could be over 30

Very good links, thank you. Unlike a lot of people I never really saw the inherent utility in an inflationary currency system (but admit it could have existed: just that I never saw it in practice). But criticize the fed or offshoring and y

That's kind of optimistic. The only service that does this I know of is the Dell enterprise agreement. Computer breaks, they fix it within a few hours or give you a loaner. Anything else you're looking at at least 2 weeks. Typical

I had good grades and test scores. Very nearly straight 4.0. I applied to a wide variety of schools. I got zilch at every single one, save some strange merit scholarships that were basically 1/2 off after increasing the price by 2x, bu

The problem with this is many developing countries overprescribe antibiotics or have them available without prescription. In developed countries you see antibiotics used en masse for livestock breeding. Both of these things dwarf any usage
