Start small and iterate? If built by knowledgeable engineers, I could see it being decent. It won't be awesome at version 1.0, but what ever is?

We have no idea what the code looks like. Maybe some knowledgeable engineers took a look at it and figured it would be better in the long run to just design and build something new themselves, instead of inheriting someone else's hairy, wa

Redirects to Reddit.com... clever. In my opinion, Reddit is kind of fun in small doses, but the groupthink and mob mentality over there is unbearable.

Pretty much. And isn't that what Spotify is? or is it implied that Spotify doesn't have a library as big as she wants? Lately, I have been listening to Slacker Radio with a Premium account ($10/month), and it is very much like Spotify an

Here is the link to the real website, instead of the blog: http://www.urbee.net/home/ It's not a full car that is downloadable and printable. It's not at all what the misleading title of this post says.

The title here is a little misleading. They didn't create the whole car with a 3D printer. They just used a Stratasys FDM machine (the "3d printer") to make the outer body panels... basically just the outer shell of the car that is painte

It's called a "weekend project", not "this is a rock-solid, time-tested piece of software that works in absolutely every browser perfectly". If you would like to help out, go ahead and download the source and make the necessary modificatio

I'm using Firefox 10 and it works great for me. Do you have weird custom javascript settings, or are you using any extensions like No-script that might be interfering with it?

Instead of answering my questions, you have just copy-pasted more speculation and hyperbole from an opinion piece written by just another blogger. What I am trying to do here is get people to actually think logically about these things, no

What you are scared of is some hypothetical situation that there so-far is no evidence it could or would happen in the future? When you do web searches, your personal emails start popping up within the results? That actually happens, or i

Could you give a specific example of a search that you've done on Google that gives you bad results? And that would give you better "unbiased" results on DuckDuckGo? I would like to try and do a side-by-side comparison. Also, what do y

It was arguably only the dreaded "version 4" redesign that caused the failure of Digg. And it wasn't necessarily the look that everyone hated, it was the fact that every single aspect of functionality was completely changed in a way that m

Honest question: Why is this on Hacker News? I would expect to see this kind of post on Reddit, but not HN. For the record, I also want the "war on drugs" to end, but I also don't want HN to turn into Reddit.
