I was responding, slightly in jest, to the "Which is plain stupid" argument.

If you'd extend touch to sensor input for gravity and acceleration, I suppose theme parks and carnivals provide the art form you are looking for. Making this kind of categorization leads to a question to which the answer probably says

I was being sarcastic, sorry for that. Critical thinking might work for a few people in higher education, but it surely doesn't work for all of us.

Sure, but there are so many skills to focus on, that one can hardly expect people to stay off drugs because one lesson was spent on how bad it is. Companies are constantly inventing new ways to get people hooked on their platforms (or produ

There are even more reasons to use a monolith, or to simply use a service oriented architecture. Probably not necessary to repeat here, but microservices add a lot of complexity due to asynchronicity, limited interfaces, and more complex er

Also interesting in this context is the podcast series "The Advent of Computing" [1] by Sean Haas. Episode 36 is specifically about CP/M, and there are several episodes that paint the history of the x86 architecture that we&#

Note the "mostly" and "typically". There are some amazing artists who really know what they're doing. The chances of an artist having a PhD in machine learning and a masters at Goldsmiths are statistically speaki

Most of contemporary art is unaffected by the current AI craze. On one hand, the art world has been steadily pushing boundaries since the 19th century, and computer technology is just one blip on the vast radar of interesting subjects (othe

Why does aphantasia come up so often on Hacker News? I find it mildly annoying that there is nearly no scientific backing to it, and that we are having the same discussions over and over again. It seems very similar to the RSI craze, back i
