You have a fairly naive view of “conference” talks. Thee are not conferences in the sense most understand them.

You’re completely ignoring infrastructure. No serious debate of a green future precludes nuclear in the next 30–50 years.

The response to your message is just further proof of the bro science component.

Interesting. Most folk I know fairly rapidly develop a basic intuition around Go as at the initial phases one leverages basic pattern recognition, which humans are good at. I think the issue you raise though is fundamental to the beauty of

Meh. People have issue with those proselytizing crappy software that is not deserving of even a download. The issue isn’t with people being derisive of bad alternatives, but folk who are so convinced of the utility of garbage that they keep

Come on. It’s uneducated because it’s just a naive hot take. The education in this case comes from experience and basic understanding of the underlying issues. The author does not demonstrate possessing either of these attributes.

You misunderstand the ecosystem. Many folk program in Python because it’s largely forced upon them. It’s often the easiest language to work with for data science, ML Eng, or data engineering, despite many frameworks actually running in the

If you mean “Python programmers” to be random sysadmins that write hack code residing on a random EC2 instance then maybe you’re right. But most I get the sense you haven’t looked at many Python libs lately. The added productivity of non-ty

Do you leave your house? It’s much more difficult to find everyday objects that do not succumb to constant design changes. Bandages, razors, beverages, literally almost any box of foodstuff…

People also believe in sapient preternatural forces and UFOs with wild abandon. The universality speaks more to the shortcomings of the human brain than any objective truth. Once you’ve studied all the cognitive biases we posses these pheno

This view vastly underestimates the ability of a completely wrong party to sue for slander. In the US at least. You see this with pseudoscientific snake oil salesmen all the time.

One of the issues I’ve seen with EBP is that it’s often not necessarily science based. That is to say, prior plausibility derived from basic science isn’t fully incorporated, ergo undo weight is given to noise. You see with in almost any st

I’ve yet to meet a single person that wasn’t into some weird pseudoscience or just full of hubris that likes to categorize a philosophy of “listen to the experts, look at the literature not isolated studies” as “don’t question science.”

Pipenv is garbage. Don’t use it. I’d just use pip and requirements files if you can. It’s doubtful that your requirements are sufficiently complex as to require a more complex resolver, although that depends on your ML needs.

That’s not the issue at all, since the base case of n=1 is established trivially and so the quoted statement is merely the inductive hypothesis. But the inductive argument relies on n>2 to invoke transitivity on a non-empty intersection

I think it’s fair to distinguish an echo chamber from a place of familiar discourse. I see this for example in the skeptic circles I run in. Amongst peers we might talk more dismissively about some pseudoscience topic we’ve all seen hundred
