Oh, for sure, and you have brew cask for an awesome collection of free/oss apps. https://formulae.brew.sh/cask/ That's more on the nerdy side, I was thinking more in the sense of the fancy/fun/quali

Using Telegram is my guilty pleasure for sure. They just added video calling and it, like most of their other features, Just Works™. Just don't send your passwords or whatever to your Telegram buds and you should be alright. Funny enou

I knew it would be a video from that channel, haha. I discovered it recently and it's a treasure trove of fascinating, "How It's Made"-on-crack technology videos. Link for the lazy: https://www.youtube.com

Wow you just made me realise that most of my jobs are the same, I've passed plenty of coding challenges with flying colours but almost always went for the jobs where we just chatted and got along immediately.

I've conducted close to a thousand interviews as an Interview Engineer at Karat (and hiring people before that). And yet, as a candidate I _always_ get terrified during even mock interviews. edit: plug time https://github.co

Okay, this is crazy. This week I spent 5-10 minutes scrambling my brain to find this article [1], it was the first search result for "no more free sodas" (now, to be fair, it's now the first result for me on Google, too). Tha

Not OP but I was going to say the same thing - switching to BT headphones made me a very happy camper. I use Bowers & Wilkins PX, as they were the first USB-C headphones around. They have a great sound and no plastic, but if you don

Wife gave birth to our first son ~8 years ago in Romania at a public hospital in Bucharest. Not only the experience was harrowing for her (too much shit to go through and most of it sounds like a bad joke), but yes, this still happens today

FWIW I've played the same game competitively for the past 11 years, while also doing the same job (programmer). Not sure how that reflects on me haha, but despite doing the same thing, the "meta" and skill level is dramatical

FWIW I'm in the same boat wrt the iPad, however I just bought a used iPad Air 1st gen for 139 GBP (came with a brand new case too) to use with my new treadmill. It's slow as molasses but works great for watching videos (and iFit),

That's exactly what I meant by that. I've been in a few companies and I don't think the compensation structure for SWEs is fair for most of the German market. I do agree that Berlin is still fairly cheap.

I agree, actually. It's so hard to find a good job that doesn't pay like crap in Germany (I used to live in Cologne and Berlin). Try contracting with UK companies if you can find a remote gig, my QoL went significantly up after I
