Clearly, you've never worked in distributed systems, and your impression of Twitter (and other large "centralized" by your definition systems) are actually huge, loosely coupled decentralized systems. The real difference is whether than dec

So, by that measure, "The Web" as a nonprofit (w3c.org?) will never work and should be a huge failure, right?

Here's Google's Transparency Report for the United States: http://www.google.com/transparencyreport/removals/government... Looks like ~1700 videos have been taken down.

Wow, only 3,000 cycles. I haven't heard about this property of memristors before. I guess they still have a long time to go before becoming production-ready. On the good side, they look very, very dense, so maybe some kind of ECC would h

Would love to see this applied to generate much larger, more expansive worlds. To me, "an island is an island is an island" and they all feel the same (mountain in the middle). More expansive landscapes with larger biomes and geologic pro

Not sure why this can be a "solved problem" with fonts (mostly) due to intelligent hinting. Is there nothing like "Hinting for SVG" or an SVG equivalent to "Multiple Master" fonts ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_master_fonts )?
