+1. Frameworks learning costs are non-trivial. After you worked so hard to become productive in a particular framework it's frustrating to see its core and/or ecosystem fizzle --- especially when your existing code already tied th

The SFBay I-880 and US-101 are always packed, often under construction, but still pothole-filled, with sections of extreme roughness. Compare this to our OR neighbors, where there are signs saying "your tax dollars at work" by ORD

I know this hasn't been updated, and I know it's a fork of CoffeeScript, but https://livescript.net/ has had a lot of the "magic" syntax here for quite a while.

The goal you described matches more of an on-ramp meter instead of surface street lights? Unless of course we're talking about an intersection leading to the on-ramp, but now we're into back-off effects as well, which arguably cou

Came in to say this. The Einsum notation makes it desirable to formulate your model/layer as multi-dimensional arrays connected by (loosely) named axes, without worrying too much about breaking it down to primitives yourself. Once you

Some implementations of TC/ESC will abruptly brake one or more of the wheels in on/off pulses, using the ABS pump, disrupting an otherwise balanced cornering car.

I did the same, hoping that someday I will finally get FTTH. Currently still on the only real option here which is Comcast 1G/20M. Sometimes LTE has better upload speed (but not latency, obviously).

If you're referring to column mounted prndl stalks, they don't turn with the wheel. Examples: Mercedes, older Model S, and lots of pickup trucks. If you're referring to paddle shifters, ironically Ferrari (of wheel-mounted in

I went APEC too; can recommend, but I expect most of the look-alike systems to work equally well (filters being interchangeable).

Get any undersink RO system. I went with a tanked system (there is a pressurized tank for storing filtered water) but I have friends who were happy with tankless (tap gives you the trickle of filtered water directly). I live in an area with

I refuse to do takehomes as any part of the interview. My principle is out of fairness and mutual respect of the value of time: For every hour I spend interviewing, someone from the company must spend 1 hour too. EDIT: Take-home-styled codi

I wish this entire Stealerships industry just vanishes and this reason (crazy ADMs) alone is enough. There is enough tacit collusion in the industry that makes it unnecessarily difficult to get around being ripped off.

It still is. City of SC (silicon valley power) charges $0.13/kWh vs north of $0.4x/kWh from PGE. It's simply impractical to charge EV at home regardless of which plan you pick at PGE, due to aggressive tier limits and the int

On a related tangent: I'm really puzzled by these PWM-based _digital_ signaling protocols --- more so (apparently in this case) where the period isn't even fixed. The most prominent example is probably the WS2812 RGB LED, a.k.a. N

I do the same in Obsidian with a slight twist! I like Zettelkasten / bunch-of-markdown-files tools because more often than not they _expand_ on this simple idea, offering additional structure on top without aiming to destruct anything.
