Hi, I'm the founder of Mailrox. Wasn't expecting a HN post this soon, I accidentally got tweeted by Smashing Magazine. Happy to answer any questions you've got.

From what I've heard, Carmageddon was a fantastic game, however... I had the N64 version, it was one of the buggiest game I have ever played. It was always fun watching the AI navigate tricky sections of straight road.

I love spritifying and existing site and watching the load times drop in usage reports. Here's a great idea that I would like to see implemented concerning css sprites and the rails asset pipeline: In your .erb.css file you could include ea

Funny this came up, I was just looking at how Twitter's bootstrap creates the "caret" drop-down arrow. http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/components.html#buttonDr... If you inspect the down arrow it's created in the same way. Interesting

Superb. Will it be regularly updated? One thing I'd add is to the app overview page, add a quick overview of the processes going on. You have to go pretty deep to look at the number of workers/dynos. It runs really smoothly, best heroku UI

It looks like a media organizer with the complicated sidebar. Once you switch off that side bar (I assume you can because the second two screenshots don't have one) it looks like the good-old simple VLC player. I think they may have just pu

I recommend watching "Tim Harford: Trial, error and the God complex" from this list. Makes one think of self-assured designers vs. AB testing, how trial and error is much better approach to the design of a site than God complex approach.

How will if effect decisions like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15459005 ...where BT (big British isp) was told to block sites?

I like almost everything about bootstrap, except for it's button states... They don't feel right. The 'hover' state should be the 'down'(active) state; the hover state looks like button is pushed in. The hover needs some kind of glow or sub

I would pay good money for a postgresql client as superb as sequelpro, and I think a lot of other developers would. Someone is going to cash in on this gap if sequelpro don't beat them to it.

Attachment view is one innovation that stands out, abstracting attachments from emails to allow independent file-system like browsing of them would be great. This client might be a little late to the party in terms of clean UI as something

This is how overflow:scroll should have worked on iOS a long time ago. At the moment you have to mash two fingers in a webpage and scrape the content across that page. (Not sure if this is updated in iOS5?)

Yeah. That is really smooth and fast on the iPhone 3G. It's a great job. This is what overflow-scrollable areas on webpages should have been in iOS Safari. At the moment you have to mash two fingers into the screen and slowly drag it around

We only upgrade jQuery if the site is a massive web app, to get the performance gains from a new version. For most of your run-of-the-mill sites with a little sprinkling of jquery, to animate a few things and do some basic ajax, there isn't

I emailed them a little while ago about the text in all their articles being justified, (which is a nightmare for certain types of dyslexics, who just end up seeing patterns and losing concentration). Apparently they've fixed it now, anywho
