I strongly recommend Simpletask (disclosure, I've sent a couple PRs). Not visually polished, but functionality is the best, bar none: Lua scripts allow extensive customization of your workflow. Free & open source. Only on F-Droid d

I math'd this out recently and decided that ~16:9 actually would be the ideal ratio for me.. On a ~42" 8k monitor, using 2x scaling. I'm optimizing mainly for viewing three documents side by side here. Having your primary doc

What about by volume? Also, stronger meaning what? There's a combination of factors here: not just whether it breaks, but also how (dent vs crack..). Also, how well it ages. Also, how much flex does it have and how does that affect the

I think the second part of this post makes a more compelling argument against NC licensing. https://blog.wolftune.com/2011/07/brain-parts-song-video.htm... The core point: > The Creative Commons Non-Commercial

Well, that's the difference, isn't it? People were able to convert their VHS to DVD. Doing that for DRM would be impractical and/or illegal.

In a home owner's association, the home owners are part of the association. You have to play by the rules, but you are also part of the body that makes the rules. In this case, the party setting the rules is more like the rich person

The main difference between each of those scenarios and the one I describe is that we have words to describe them. From your post: freehold, leasehold, buy, rent, loan (and I'll add: mortgage). You don't need to read the fine pr

What galls me about this model is not that it exists, but that companies are allowed to use the words "buy" and "own" in their marketing and contracts around this. The distinction between buying and renting a house, or b

You can definitely learn to draw, if you want. It just takes practice. I used to think I couldn't draw, but after taking a painting class, I learned that it's much more technique (and less intuition) than you might think.

People's experience will vary eidely because the problem is in the supply chains, not production. In most cases, there exists plenty of X, it's getting it from Y to Z that's the problem.

I'd say Elm is a decent example. Released 2012. Historically, the ML family has been fairly unpopular, with a little bit of ocaml in the wild and not much else. Elm is certainly also niche, but I think it meets some definition of "

You're making the mistake of anthropomorphizing a corporation. Past a certain size, corporations start behaving less like people and more like computers, or maybe profit-maximizing sociopaths. The intent doesn't matter, because 5
