I wouldn't say this is how I think most of my friends talk or anything, but it certainly doesn't read that differently from the way some people I know communicate.

I think a lot of people are exaggerating in this thread. Still, only 5% of New York drivers who are involved in a fatal crash with with a pedestrian are arrested, let alone convicted[1]. It seems that most of the time, there isn't much

I still don't see your point about people who "just barely cannot get in". Most community college students did not need to do anything to get in. For the public community colleges in California, if I recall correctly, you jus

I don't think that's relevant, is it? At least where I grew up (California), community colleges tended not to have admission standards and anyone could attend. Making it easier to afford seems to imply you'll be getting peopl

250k is way above the upper end of what you've heard? I knew a guy who was at $200k at one of the usual suspects straight out of undergrad. It's easy for me to imagine twice that for people with more of a track record.

I went to Harvard, and 100k seemed like a pretty typical salary for my recent grad friends, although commonly accompanied by stock and/or signing bonuses. I knew one guy making about 200k per year at an established company once you pro

Yeah, it's definitely a situation that wouldn't have occurred to me from my background. Around here, you mostly just look around craigslist or get a real estate agent and in a couple of weeks can find a nice, legal rental that mee
