I've seen pay toilets in my country twice. Both times the doors had shit smudged all over the handle and pay slot.

Stack Overflow is an amazing tool to find solutions to problems that worked 5 to 10 years ago, while newer versions of those questions get closed for being duplicates.

This destroys the very basic idea of opensource. That the first developer on a project can hand off to someone else to take over the project, and have the project continue past their involvement. Now if the first developer deletes their acc

My only experience of Maven was fighting it to get a single jar that included everything, and having it redownload every dependence with every single build. I don't think downloading everything is a better solution.

I do wish more attention was paid to the ballooning disk space requirements for both. I think Cargo is doing better, but I've yet to get a shared directory working for every build on a system. I shouldn't have to spend 2G per Rust

Yeah, just like the existence of Windows prevented Linux from ever existing. The wrong hands have the money to seek alternatives. All this policy does is keep it out of the hands of the public, and ensure that whatever open alternatives sta

A company that can't figure out what do with employees is just as much a warning sign. It's a bad signal that Microsoft can't think of any development worth doing.

Honestly, I think all these layoffs hurt companies. Hiring is difficult and a slow process. Being unable to think of something profitable for devs to do inside your company is a sign that your management is being ineffective, or that ideas
