I'd go even further, I don't think you should hold meme stocks longer than a day. You can always buy in the next day but momentum can swing way too much and kill any profit you made. For example: BBBY when it was revealed that Rya

The part about "cool" tickers absolutely rings true. The fact is that stock prices are based entirely on supply and demand, and external factors only matter when enough people participating believe the same. The past couple years

Thanks, I do, actually. It's a really neat tool! I'm quite into the stock analysis page. The idea of stocks having innate value is the polar opposite of what I'm doing but I can definitely see a market for what you're of

Long term, for sure it's not fantastic, but short term it can be great. Of course it's not as simple as just buying the most mentioned stock.

WSB et al are all still valuable places to discover stocks. It's just that you need to be on there 24/7 to get anything useful. I run an algorithm that does pretty advanced pattern recognition on internet discussion to find stocks

You're not making a distinction, you're classifying it incorrectly. Containing a messaging component does not make it a messenger. It's a social network, it clearly believes that the connections between people is the most imp

It's not a messenger, though. It's a social network. And you can disagree with that, just as I do you. Post migration still supports messaging.

Sorry, wait, also you're definition of social network is incorrect. It /is/ a group of friends. It's a network made up of social relationships. Think of it like business networking, but for your friends. The connection i

It seems as though you're putting emphasis on the wrong thing. Mastodon clearly believe the emphasis is on the _network_, as in, the people you follow and who follow you. But I'm not entirely sure why you're arguing semantics
