Nothing to do with being superior (seriously - it’s just a shell?) - was just surprised (if that’s ok with you).

Gosh, I couldn’t think of anything worse than having to optimise myself for generalist systems

"Open Source" ... but is built around and tied to "Open"AI... :/ So weird that this isn't local LLM first.

Zac, I think you’re doing great handling and communicating this. Keep up the great work and have fun learning while you’re at it!

Good write up. I always appreciate Kagi’s honesty and transparency like this. Great product, great service.

Looks very tied to MS Windows which is more than a little off-putting in 2024.

Why is everyone's marketing team underlining a random word in their slogans these days? Is the most important takeaway not to be forgotten from this product the word "era"?

Why do so many of these news demos require old versions of CUDA? It’s quite annoying having to juggle the installs and disk usage of CUDA 11.6,11.7,11.8,12.1,12.2,12.3

Isn’t Pinterest just a spam / advertising website? Most of the folks I’ve asked have it blocked in unlock/kagi/pihole etc…

The sites design is very aesthetically pleasing, well done on that front. Something that put me off a bit was immediately seeing bitcoin influencer content after loading the page.

It’d be interesting if this could integrate with plocate (mlocate’s replacement) which is incredibly quick at indexing and returning results but relatively basic.

Ah, I tried your app out just the other day. It sounded interesting but I couldn’t see a way to download models (on iOS anyway) and it seemed quite slow compared to MLC Chat but perhaps that was the built in model?

32GB memory only leaves about 24-26GB for the GPU by default which is quite low for a larger model like that. For comparison it runs great on a M2 Max 96GB.
