I recall seeing some issues with performance on some older games - do you know if this is still the case, or did you not try it? I'm not in the market for a graphics card at the moment, but if there's another competitive company i

Dude write "slave" in your code all you want, I don't care. Your dev lead might though, you can have that fight with them.

Yes it doesn't sound crazy because you're not describing reality - you're describing the fictional world where you are being victimised because you're not a minority. This line of reasoning is a favourite with white supr

Most organizations have some document describing acceptable coding standards that cover things like whitespace/indentation, brackets, idioms and naming conventions. It is so bizarre how many people draw the line at master/slave -

It's funny that there is a use for the word "un-deprecated" but that's good news! Now that I think about it I guess I'm glad that they didn't remove or replace the original tools - I could still use them.

Yeah, I use the Python REPL for any quick calculations - it's usually already open, it's fast and it is more flexible. I still think the default calculator should be quick and functional for those of us who don't do developer

Are there really that many Python libraries implemented in C? Genuine question - I thought there were a few very high profile ones, but I always figured there weren't many (like 10% or less, total finger-in-the-air guess)

I feel like 3dfx still had a slight edge until the tail end of the Voodoo3 era (when the GF256 came out and blew everything away). But I think it depends what you prioritise. Like here, the V3 seems to have a pretty handy lead in most cases
