There is no such thing as "clean code", I think its a verb, not a noun. Same problem as being virtuous, there is no such state. But you can attempt to do things well, make moral choices, etc. Specifically, when we first bang out t

Why is it pretty wild? There are tons of scammers, crooks, etc., this stuff is common place, not abnormal. Humans tend towards greed and lining their own pockets, just look at any dysfunctional government that has ever existed. I would not

This is blatantly false - if you work second or third shift, you cannot hold these titles. Does that make any e.g. factory worker ineligible for titles? You might say to yourself 'but you don't want factory workers im office'

As others have pointed out LTS exists elsewhere - the truth is LTS is minimum level of support necessary for most users. Everything else is essentially bleeding edge - too much work to maintain, constantly bugged, etc. The previous model wh

I don't actually think passwords are broken at all - I mostly used to see this from people pushing biometrics or hardware tokens (people selling stuff). How we use them, is very much broken. What is the point of a password that a bit o

The problem with password managers was they were a commercial venture - not that commercial is inherently in the general case worse, but: 1. Closed source, so you cannot audit a critical peice of security infrastructure. 2. Perverse incenti

I think you have missed the point of fakes versus mocks (as this article puts it) based on what you said - fakes should be able to do everything mocks can, more, even. But I hear you complain "but that's so much work to maintain!!

Fakes also make integration testing easier too - if you want to focus on say, making sure your payments always make it into the database correctly, integration testing across the medley becomes (relatively) trivial, even automatable.

The proper metric is tests/feature - most test code bases are so bad you can't even pick out what feature is being tested, due to a blind adherence to 'code coverage' It is the equivalent of spot checking a road 100 time
