I don't quite understand how a settlement in a bankruptcy case can include an immunity provision against future criminal charges. What is the mechanism for that?

Even though I'm not a blockchain expert, I'm a bit surprised by the other responses. AFAIK, when a node finds a new block, it announces that to its peers and starts working on finding the next block. No explicit acknowledgment fro

Greenwald has been shilling for Russia for years now, so it's not a stretch that this would extend to Belarus as well?

It's almost comical how you go from "it doesn't matter what the scale of the irregularities is, fraud is fraud" to "you have to qualify the scale of the insurrection, only a few were armed" in the same post. If

When I left Germany in 2007, I was making 52000 Euro per year. Crazy to hear that salaries remained practically flat. When I went to Silicon Valley, my pay practically doubled overnight, and now 13 years later I make 10x as much (and my job

I read through the original complaint[1] and had a few observations that made me scratch my head. 1. All other browsers' private/incognito modes behave the same. Then why do they expect Chrome to behave differently? Is the complai

But in order for Google to catch people spying on other people by viewing their calendars, Google would have to surveil the activity of the people doing the spying. Maybe that's what the headline is referring to, but the article doesn&

I thought this was about the 1985 RPG of the same name. The amazing Rob Hubbard soundtrack immediately played in my head when I clicked through, only to find screenshots of a completely unfamiliar game. It took me almost half an hour to fig

My understanding is that you will owe taxes on all 10,000 shares, since you were in CA when they were granted. Vesting dates don't matter.

Multiple reasons come to mind. 1. Germany doesn't have TLDs like ".edu", and it became a de-facto standard to construct higher education domains by abbreviation of type of school and location: www.[uni|fh|...]-[location].de 2

Type `about:config` in the address bar. Search for `allow-muted`, set that to false. If that still doesn't work, check other related autoplay settings, like `media.autoplay.ask-permission`.

Usually ad blockers work by maintaining a blacklist of known ad server hosts and/or IP addresses, and simply block any requests to these. With AMP though, any content (even ads) is funneled through a proxy CDN (the AMP cache), so ads a

What's unclear about this? You are publicly distributing intellectual property you have no rights over, and the owner is asking you to cease and desist. It doesn't matter how many people actually access it, that's not a valid

We have run into the same issue before. Many third party services like Optimizely for example just stuff all their tracking information into a cookie, serialized as JSON, which you as the site owner don't really have much control over.
