It's way too early for the DNC to take punitive actions against any campaign. They shouldn't do that until there is evidence that data was misused. Currently there is no evidence, and I doubt any will appear.

I think it is pretty unreasonable. As you note, there is no technical reason to deny the Bernie campaign access to their data. The Bernie campaign has fully indicated they want and are willing to cooperate with a third party investigation i

I think the point though, is that it's more than just a single old Rails YAML bug. The privilege escalation shouldn't have been there. Their infrastructure would still be vulnerable even without the initial exploit.

I'm sorry that capitalist libertarians don't like being associated with social conservatives. They should have thought of that before entering a political alliance with them in the 80s. edit: typo

Well, presumably an advance will eventually provide a competitive advantage. For example, before the Copernican revolution, we had a model for the cosmos that made decent predictions. The heliocentric model actually made worse predictions f

> Philosophy of science is about as useful to scientists as ornithology is to birds > Design patterns ala GoF are about as usable to programmers as ornithology is to birds. So here design patterns is compared to philosophy of science.

Yup. The web is fundamentally about links. If application state is not driven through hyperlinks, it doesn't belong on the web.

What exactly is different? I've been using "stateless function components" with react 0.12 and 0.13. Just write a function that returns a ReactElement, eg: function renderFoo(props) { return <span>{props.f
