Ideally, it would be financed using a mix of fiat currency and taxes. Then it could take the place of debt growth for building the monetary base. If inflation becomes too rapid, the mix would be tilted more towards taxes. If deflation hits,

Not quite. It presumably only concatenates the headers, which are read any time a dependant file is complied. The advantage is that the compiler doesn't have to open and read a header every time it encounters an include at the top of a

Much larger resonant tunneling effects were observed over 20 years ago in III-V heterostructure devices at room temperature. This is a slightly interesting result, but the supposed implications are just your typical research marketing. Tunn

Yeah, something like this is very much needed, but it's not the hard part. The software is the hard part. The software is the reason we have the multiple levels of cache we have now. Without solving the software challenges, there can b

Entropy is not the negative of information, it is the expected quantity of information: H(X) = E[I(X)] = E[-log(P(X))] The rest seemed just as confused.

It seems that people often confuse complex with clever or impressive. Impressive is unifying the falling of an apple with the orbiting of the planets into three simple universal laws. Complexity is an emergent phenomenon. It occurs when the

You need more than an advanced type system. You need a declarative constraint solving and proof system. Instead of telling the compiler how to perform a task, you would declare the assumptions and the desired relationships and then, with th

I went back and read your post beginning to end. I have no nitpicks---only disagreements. Fist, I must say that upon reading your data points on average new housing size, my default mental response was "averages can be misleading"

I apologize for not directly addressing the issue of affordable housing. The reason I did not directly address it is that I see it as one piece of the puzzle, though certainly an important one. Housing prices in California are high primaril

Yes, on second thought, I was mistaken. Stock shorts do counter the instability of stock purchases. I suppose the real problem, then, is that stabilizing the stock system would require perfectly counterbalancing the two, which is infeasible

I skimmed your post, but nothing in there convinced me that basic income would worsen stability. I agree that basic income will not eliminate the gap between the rich and the poor, but that's not the point. Nothing can permanently elim

I don't see that working for the same reason having a mechanism to short stocks can't prevent stock crashes. Adding a positive feedback mechanism can't stabilize a system (at least not in the real world, where you can't

Taking the diet advice above a bit further, you might consider trying a Keto diet, which is a high fat low carb diet. Keto diets eliminate the blood sugar swings that cause highs and crashes throughout the day, making it significantly easie

Stated platform != Voting record Of course even if you required people to know a politician's voting record before voting for them, politicians would find some way to game the system.

US Congress decided to sell off the US stockpile. Since they're selling lower than anyone else can produce, they're basically the only source. Therefore, they are the global supply and they are setting worldwide prices.

Doesn't this also imply that the bank is storing plaintext passwords instead of salted hashes? I'm pretty sure I would not use such a bank. Edit: Just saw that others have already brought this up below. Sorry for the redundancy.
