I'm not aware of Castlabs fork working without a production build [1]. I don't think there would be a way for open source users to be able to use a production signed release. Still waiting to hear back more from Widevine. [1] htt

It doesn't. It transmits playback state, but doesn't stream any video or audio content. Each user needs to be logged into web services on their own client.

Those were my initial thoughts, Google misunderstanding how Metastream works. It only sends playback information, no streaming of video/audio content. Each user needs to be logged into their own session on each web service.

This seems to be changing as of recently this year. There have been many security-related changes including making options such as Node integration disabled by default [1]. Support for renderer process sandbox is also available [2]. [1] ht

Have you seen Carlo [1] yet? It's the closest thing available to what you're describing. Main drawback imo is that it's Chrome-only. [1] https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/carlo

I created swarm-peer-server [1] as a way to connect to specific peers over a DHT using a public key known ahead of time. I use this in a networked app I've built to perform WebRTC signaling between peers [2]. The networking and crypto

I see that the DHT relies on a package called 'ipv4-peers' [1]. Does it also support IPv6 peers? I know there's a BitTorrent BEP for IPv6 support, but I'm not quite sure if that relates to this DHT implementation. [1] h

There's some discussion about this in the Electron GitHub issues, but development is fairly inactive afaik. https://github.com/electron/electron/issues/673

There are a few Microsoft employees already working on improving Electron. Notably helping keep it up-to-date with Chromium [1] (current release at v61—6 versions behind stable). Security is an area that could use a lot of improvements. Alo

http://peerjs.com/ is the best library I've found for WebRTC thus far. Their documentation is fair, there's decent support for DataChannels and they've also open sourced a signalling server. https:/
