No one is giving them money. They will just pay less in taxes. That 10bn is not lost money, assuming a fab would not have been built (which may or may not be a fair assumption) without the subsidies.

While not representative, I would imagine that for most millennial HN users, 2020 was their best year in terms of financial gain: roaring stock market, wfh and CoL savings, insane crypto boom, record level bonuses, etc. I do understand that

I used to live in Tanzania and while none of the produce or fruit looks very good, it tastes maybe 10x better than anything in America. When I first moved there I was absolutely shocked by how good the fruits/vegetables and even corn t

I believe those instructions do not work anymore. There's a project on github that will build an appropriately old ubuntu vm that runs open genera pretty well provided you have the source. You can also find the source tarball without t

Exactly! Being a market maker means constantly interacting with counterparties that have more information than you. In order to be successful you must utilize the core information they do not have: you are in the center of the order flow. E

Yes it can. Kelly can be applied to determine optimal leverage ratios. Assuming a risk free rate of zero, that formula is expected return divided by expected variance. so 10% expected return and 10% expected volatility, optimal Kelly is 10x

I have an old blog post about the subject: https://cryptm.org/posts/2019/10/04/vol.html Optimal over my time period was 2.99x, but the expense ratio was not accounted for.
