But is there additional value in more (proof of) work or are the returns diminishing? In economic terms the best network hashrate would be the one that is sufficiently secure to protect against bad actors but uses as little electricity as p

There is two problems with that argument: - Terminals are the worth offenders when it comes to special characters and encoding issues. - GUIs are not inherently injectable. That said, I still things it's a weird idea. There are much be

I don't think mmap stops you from mapping the same memory twice, nor does linux. In my case I didn't even disable the system I2C driver. If course if I tried to use it I would get io errors and if I am not careful I can crash the

I think we all know the answer to that question :) I would note that professional bank feed apis (e.g. yoodle) also use username password pairs and not only break when you change password but can result in a locked bank account due to too m

I didn't end up writing the kernel module, so this might be an anti use case: I was working on an embedded system and needed to have fast I2C access (mostly just wanted very small latency bc it's an instrument). I2C from Linux use

IMHO any tool that converts JSON to JSON is pointing to the wrong direction. Json should strictly be used as a serialization format and everyone who touches it should immediately parse it into a typed data-structure that represents your dom

I got stuck too. I spent too much trust on CPU instead of memory. That limited my total compute to 30K, I needed 50K for the upgrade and the quantum boost wore off before I could reach 50K. I ended up having to click the quantum button usin

You could use nix the same way guix uses scheme. The lowest level operation in nix is not "run-this-bash-script" but "run- this-executable-with-these-arguments".
