Seems like poor design - we used drift and it definitely persisted chat sessions. Agreed on sounds and face being extremely annoying.

I would suggest using Vue progressively at that point. Refactoring our endpoints after using intercooler was not fun and using Vue/react without going full SPA let's you move on way easier

I feel stupid but I still don't completely understand why this oppression is necessary. Do they need to remove the villages for BRI to come to fruition?

The whole point of YouTube for m it's inception was to share videos with the internet. This isn't some shady hivemind hatching an evil scheme.

You're correct but GED is definitely not an advertised option for current hs students. There's a lot of 'tricks' which can be unlocked just by being in the know. Unfortunately, that predominantly favors middle class +

I'll add a personal anecdote about homeschooling and social life. My parents didn't do a great job of exposing me to other children while I was being homeschooled. When I transitioned into public, I struggled for quite some time j

I don't pick the first place I see off Yelp, it's more of a filter for bad restaurants and then check remaining menus. I've found the actual written reviews to not be very useful unless I'm looking for authenticity (Chin

You're probably talking about LA when referencing socal, but San Diego is reasonably affordable if you live in the right places (aka not downtown/la Jolla).

If you're optimizing for money, early startups would be the last place I'd look. I'm well aware that I'm making ~60% of a big 4 salary (tc) assuming my options are useless. Additionally I doubt I'm learning as much

I'd also argue it's more like a 2x pay jump if you're early career. I'd love to know about companies who paid that well and didn't require leetcode

I have a t440, the weight of the mbp is not comparable. It's more like a carbon and there's huge advantage to being able to move easily without a heavy laptop.

Most apps are API based and react native works perfectly fine for them - I've done all 3 and in general, RN performance is sufficient. Previous cross platform frameworks were pretty disappointing but I truly believe rn is well engineer

As with most issues, this isn't black or white. There are many legitimate reasons why an insignificant number of employees do support Dragonfly and it's not rationalization from their perspective.

We're on quill as well - any reason you'd want to switch? We haven't encountered any issues aside from having to write our own parsers (Delta to react native components)

I'd argue the purpose for most people leaving FB is to waste less time and privacy is generally a nice side effect but rarely a primary factor for the general population.

I know a lot of people on HN say server rendered first, but imo the difference in speed and complexity is minimal if you already know Vue/react/angular. Really the biggest benefit of server rendered is keeping everything as a mono
