Yeah g-suite is a dam bargain especially since it also gets you conferencing, SSO and is one of the few SaaS you'd truly want to buy and retain.

Are you able to comment at all about Indigo's products? Is it something people should keep an eye on? I've interviewed there before and it was difficult for me to understand if what they were doing was actually beneficial to farme

You can be productive with Nest.js but I'd hate to promote it as a great solution. It's really a mashup of other JS libs with Nest bringing a rather convoluted form of dependency injection and http action decorators. You can build

We've no-hired people for exactly this characteristic. It's great to have strong opinions but forcing rewrites due to that is typically not what you want in coworkers.

Isn't this true of any job - If the world was all software engineers it'd be missing lots of stuff too. I get the point you're making about nomads being (more) dependent on others, but I honestly think that's true for ev

There's a smell if containers are forcing you to radically change your ops strategy. Networking between boxes doesn't change, networking between processes on the same boxes is slightly more complicated but you can always fallback

Not sure what 'containerize' means in this context, but adding a Dockerfile, building the image and changing your box to use docker should definitely not reduce velocity or increase deploy time to half an hour...

Wonder if I'm the only one surprised by their actual revenue model. I had always assumed they made money off loan interest from consumers which they do, but it turns out over half of their 2020 revenue came from merchant fees instead.

Any type of project. Before Tailwind existed, I used a similar system but Tailwind is obviously more complete than what I'd roll in a week. I really don't think of it as a framework since you're still specifying which CSS pro

If anyone's looking for a mobile notes app that syncs with git, I highly encourage checking out GitJournal. I used it for a bit before building a personal app specific to my workflow. Are you still bundling libgit? I remember checking

Yes it'd be like Hasura. There's also libraries (usually in-house) that let you query for every relation off that specific table. You can imagine how it works just match up the fks and expose in the graphql schema. That gives you

Not YC itself, but other investors that have an actual board seat and invested more than 125k likely have a vested interest in seeking a lucrative acquisition.

Gotcha. I expected the bar to be relative to the other produce. I guess I don't really care that a vegetable is 105/200 days remaining because the total length of that specific vegetables season is kinda irrelevant in this context

I really don't understand what the green bar represents. Also how do some vegetables have 675 days left, wouldn't that be all year?

That's a fair point, we'd have to compare projected growth vs. expected salary of new job. Certainly the benefit of working at large tech companies or rocketships. My experience with smaller startups, was that it's impossible

Why wouldn't you be obtaining the equivalent amount of options at the next job? Let's say your vesting schedule is 4 years w/ 1 year cliff, it's only necessary to stay 1 year. Thereafter you're not 'losing'

We've used Knex and it works well provided you don't need features such as repeatable migrations. Imo you should actually differentiate your migrations between schema changes and data mutations. That allows you to use a more power

Idk if this is necessarily Reddits fault because we've had tons of problems implementing universal links on iOS both via 3rd party and natively ourselves so I lean towards blaming the ios platform than the developer.
