One reason I think that folks think they need to do this is because it's not very publicized AND most Go developers would come from a Unix background not a Windows one. Also, I've recently discovered Go has a lot of trouble with c

That's the point: Does anyone _not_ want this? A group of people can't just get together and decide to 'change' the license of something when they are not the owner of said thing. In this case, contributions to OpenSSL.

How do you know they chose to not fly _because of the TSA_? What if it's the opposite and they chose not to fly out of (statistically ridiculous) fear of terrorism?

It could be that this is a specification on how to implement some new API which operates consistently across the trio; i.e. "this function invokes X with parameters Y in Vulkan, X with Y in Metal, X with Y in DirectX" since that i

This is insanely cool, and I imagine there is no need for me to explain how useful this would be in comparison to the current dental approaches today. But is this technology ever going to be available to consumers? I remember reading about

It depends. If you give someone code which has a LICENSE file containing the BSD 3-clause license -- you've given them a license to use that code under the specified terms in the license, i.e. without charge etc. In order to revoke acc

Do you have anything to back that up? I don't think you do. Unity has a public API and so does Blender. I'm all for OSS just like the next guy, but saying it would be easier if unity weren't propriety is just FUD.

I'm sorry, but this is just not true. You do not need to release your source code or assets for a commercial game. According to the licensing page[1], you just need to distribute your executable and core .blend file separately. You wou

Is the issue really with how people interface with applications, or rather that interacting with applications takes focus away from the road? A person can be looking at the road with their eyes but not focusing on it (being prepared to resp

But, I mean, NATO must also make very similar decisions, right? If a NATO nation gets 'attacked' by somewhat provoking a war, NATO must ultimately make some sort of decision about whether or not to jointly act (and foot the bill).

This is huge! Gimp is awesome, and the fact that they added support for MyPaint brushes is huge -- it means artists don't have to switch back and forth between the two constantly. Also, this update puts it in a great stance against Pho

Interesting point; are there protocols in place to prevent a terrorist on board a plane from entering the cockpit at all costs? e.g. if they start executing passengers, threaten to blow up the plane, etc?

I get where you are coming from. I don't think that having x-ray detectors for plane luggage gives the passengers much safety: they could always use whatever weapon/bomb at the security line anyway! I do, however, think that it&#x

Neat! Thank you a ton for linking me to this page! I've never seen it before. According to this, then, Apache v2.0, GPL v3, and MPL 2.0 are the only (well known) licenses with explicit patent grants. It also mentions that there is an &
