Point 1 is absolutely a downside, at least for people near the court. The city decided that putting a pickleball court across the street from my building would be a great idea, and now my summers are filled with the pock-pock-pock of pickle

Citizens aren't represented in the Senate. Citizens are represented in the House of Representatives. That's why California has 52 representatives and Wyoming has 1. The Senate represents the state itself, which is why each state h

Honestly, it seems like their principle lately is actually 'Do dumb shit'. They have been gradually making the app worse with the only goal being moving customers to the most expensive subscription tier. For example, I am a Super

A Pizza Mart is open until 2am, at least in Belltown but you can only get a medium for around $20.

Alternatively, treating the “random telephone operator” as a prop and forcing them to be part of your project without consent is troubling.

I'm sorry, but "At what moisture level do crackers become soft" isn't complex syntax. I would simply blame lack of basic literacy taught in schools, and the 'whole word' method. I would recommend the 'Sold

When I worked in web hosting (more than 10 years ago), we would constantly be blackholeing Hetzner IPs due to bad behavior. Same with every other budget/cheap vm provider. For us, it had nothing to do with geo databases, just behavior.

The “Department of Government Efficiency” isn’t a real government office and as such has no actual power. Musk and Ramaswamy won’t be able to do anything, and the budget is controlled by congress, not the executive.

The truly hilarious thing is that the Tokyo subway system actually suffered a terrorist attack in 95, and still they publish the locations of all 200+ exits from Shinjuku station.

That makes sense I guess, I just never considered locals or data resources as variables.

Honestly curious, I've been writing terraform for a while but I have never heard of "The three colors of variable thing". Could you expand on that?

The pandemic response, the Muslim ban, family separation at the southern boarder, repealing roe v wade, ending DACA. This doesn’t even take into account the policies he wants to enact like mass deportations.

Cancer kills over 9 million people per year, or 18x strep A. Tuberculosis kills nearly 1.5 million people per year, or 3x. Over 9 million people die from hunger related causes, which while not a disease is 18x strep A. It's not to deme

Probably because a half million a year is a rounding error in global mortality. It sounds like a lot but the daily global mortality rate, when last I checked, was something like 170,000 per day.

There shouldn’t be any issues with customs but as far as security you can bring it in your checked baggage if it is packaged properly and safely.

This looks interesting, but is there a reason the kardinal-cli deploys kardinal-manager into the default namespace rather than taking a --namespace argument (for example)? Personally I never run anything in the default namespace but I am pr

Amazon was the third largest contributor to Redis prior to the license change. Also, Redis isn't AGPL, it's dual licensed and one of the licenses is based on the AGPL. Not trying to defend Amazon, but facts are important.

Japan got rid of public trash cans after the 95 sarin gas attack. There are still some, for example at the Sanja Matsuri there were several trash cans around due to the large number of stalls at Senso-ji.
