On over/drop you update your state and the view updates as appropriate yeah. Presumably some css transitions could make it pretty, I just went with straight updates as in my case it was only for personal use.

I've had Movistar (TF are using Movistar branding for home services as well as mobile now) fibre in Barcelona for over a year now and I can't remember a single outage. Don't get me wrong as with any large incumbent they suck

I think you should read the article again. The language in question isn't higher level really it just has compile time type checking, which has no overhead.

I believe the thinking is because sync isn't instant, especially on older slower hard drives, having to type it again give it time to actually complete.
