Clojure doesn't mean digging into the Java world Use Graalvm if you want native quick starting binaries or start learning Clojure via ClojureScript

If you're learning Clojure then you can use cursive for free until you go commercial with it?

When designing data structures that hold my program's state, my structures tend to become more coupled& brittle because I use them in multiple contexts and do a poor job of separating them, I want each context to have the perfect s

I suppose interviewers regularly fail people for less than this but it's just ridiculous I bet if the interviewee is told to add unit tests the majority could and would It's not a test of skill so much as a test of expectation, hi

Graalvm can compile a native binary for all major OSs that does not contain the JVM but does run the substratevm which generates binaries in the order of tens of megabytes (2 in my case) it eradicates JVM startup time so now things like scr

I too have a similar dream, though it already has a few good runtimes but the more the merrier, compiling to native via graalvm recently was too cool

Threading macros -> and friends in Clojure change the ordering of reading and they're idiomatic, is that what you mean?

Except UI trees are probably the worse place for objects In PHP for example all query builders are meant to be used as a tree of objects, which means if you want to recursively change the table names used by the query you're out of luc

If anyone does have this case it's two distinct functions in my mind the first function does the comparison and returns the warning You can then assert and type against the warning function, the printing function you could only assert

I've never read a code base where I thought the type system was doing a good job of being a DSL for describing business requirements Types are great imo for checking against primitives because the semantics of int string array etc are

Java esque OO is often tauted as a way to reuse code, but incredibly does the opposite by dictating a tree design and then actively disallowing reuse between arbitrary leaves of the tree I think the worse part is this plague has descended i

These are the differences I think I know about so far: - You can't lie to Datomic, it's immutable and has some really interesting performance characteristics because of that i.e. TTL = infinity, the downside from a legal pov is no

Clojure under the hood isn't copying on every operation it's partitioning the same data structure to give immutability to the developer These data structures are called persistent data structures
