they've been treated like shit for 30+ years (at least in america). I spent a few years early in my career in gaming and once I left I never looked back, it's a horror show. Crunch, constant 'there are 1000 people who want yo

would be nice to have these benchmarks so they can be run against models like the qwen family, gemini, etc.

i have issues on a m5/64g with 35b-a3b (mlx) it eventually hits a memory cap around 52gb... but i'm pretty happy with `Qwen3.6-27B-Claude-Opus-Reasoning-Distilled-mlx-8Bit`

I prefer 'Satisfactory' it's a very very chill factory builder. And less annoying in that it's fully 3d, meaning that its always possible to fit one more belt through somewhere wihout having to refactor large parts of yo

just another line in the context. 'Make sure the customers have at least the same level of privacy protection that they currently have.'

I mean it's a better forcing function to keep your customers constantly upgrading and tied to your platform. You can't just make good tools anymore, now you make mediocre tools that are sticky through dark patterns.

Yeah I need to learn it. I have learned to do some surface mount work but working on a hobby board that might cost me a hundred bucks to replace if i fuck it up vs a modern mac motherboard.. different tier of terror ;)

surprise! the ai companies that stole every conceivable copywritten work to train their models doesn't want you to be able to have any privacy either.

the storage will eventually fail and you will be able to do nothing about it (unless you have some pretty good rework chops). I do not recommend apple laptops (with soldered storage) for very long term applications like this for this reason

I stopped paying them when they killed local valuts, and secondarily when then moved away from native apps. I drifted along on the old 7.x client for awhile with local values. I've more or less switched to apple keychain/passwords

Did lastpass also pull the dumbass 'no local vaults' move that 1password made? One of the nice things about a 'bring your own vault syncing' is that breaches like this don't have to mean a goddamned thing to you.
