One of the main things that’s been keeping me away from Bambu was the reliance on their cloud system. It’s also completely proprietary, which, while it works well, is annoying. The reason I haven’t gotten a Prusa Mk4 yet is because the inpu

You might want to check the RAM or disk on your seedbox. My friend tells me that in a decade of seedbox usage, my friend has had maybe 3-5 lemons with data corruption. Edit: Clarified that it’s my friend who has a seedbox.

Algolia quoted one of my clients $250k/year. I spun up an ElasticSearch cluster and wrote a lambda that synchronises their DynamoDB into ES. Their customers barely noticed a difference in search quality, and my client got a more scalab

I was mainly responding to OP’s claim that this is “a security leak”. Likewise, from OP, I mainly understood that this was only an issue when giving a third party the headers of emails you have received. However, you (and other commenters)

Your username is not a secure part of the authentication process. In most companies, people’s username is easily guessable, or even public information. I feel you’re making a very massive issue out of something that is… not? Yes, sharing th

Yes, there are many. rpilocator showed back in July[1] that there were more than 1k units available (all rpi combined, not just rpi4). There's a lot of stock available[2]. [1]: https://mastodon.social/@rpilocator/1

You’re missing the point: every ticket has a name. Not the same single name on 4 tickets. Every ticket is personalised. It doesn’t matter that one person can’t come. All the others can go. If you can’t go, you still can get refunded for you

I’ll take not having shared seating with a potential future partner due to the breakdown of my relationship with my current partner over spending $450/person to see a band I liked back in high school.

Make the tickets named, and require ID upon entry. Completely kill the resale market. If people can’t make it, they can return the ticket for the same amount of money they bought it, up to one week before the event. Or they can get cancella

Oh, I very rarely turn on my video (I only have video enabled when I’m on-site with a client). I guess I conflated “video calls” with “meeting culture”.

While I fundamentally agree with you, this sadly is not really a possibility for me as a consultant. LoB wants to speak face to face. They want presentations and for things to be explained in bite-sized chunks. Leaders don’t want to approve

Disclaimer: I didn’t read the article. Why is streaming mutually exclusive with owning local copies? My girlfriend has Spotify, I have Apple Music. We also have an extensive FLAC collection of our “forever artists”.

If I remember correctly, OpenVMS only started supporting Itanium half a decade after the launch of Itanium, and thus also half a decade after Linux merged support in. OpenVMS was also transferred to a bunch of other commercial entities afte

Yeah, I have to strongly disagree with that. Sure, AWS can be stupidly expensive, however it can also save you a lot of money. A few years ago, I was the VPoE for a small-ish startup in Denmark. I was the only ops person, and I was able to

As I read this thread in the early morning before the family rouses, my tired eyes keep misreading “ahistorical” as “shitstorical”, which, amusingly enough, isn’t far off the intended meaning.

This is a very interesting piece. We are at a stage where we’re supposed to consider sex-work as “empowered”, and in some circles bringing up the negatives can be seen as “non-progressive” or even misogynist. It’s healthy to be able to have
