You're not wrong in the sense that 5G isn't actually that much of value for the users directly, however there are many other reasons that directly benefit the users. Telco's pay 2 big costs for running a cellular data network

As someone who recently moved and previously spent 5 years within the Northern Europe underground techno scene, what's a good in to these circles in the bay?

Keep an eye on Alliance of Open Media ( http://aomedia.org ). Basically Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix got fed up with the licensing model of H.265/HEVC which is even worse than that of H.264 (

Very true in my case. Although the problem of me getting into bed early is the vicious circle that quickly happens when staying up late. You stay up late because you're working on something fun, which offsets your sleeping pattern. Nex

Actually you are right. I remeber this also, people seem to have catched on. Although my question is probably more aimed against the media endlessly throwing articles of this cycle out.

It's interesting how fast the narrative shifted, about one year ago i was reading a long in depth article here on HN on how Marissa Mayer was out to transform Yahoo into a company fit for 2015 and how she was succeeding. Fast forward 1

No, f.lux only tweens the color profiles of the OS in realtime to shift the white point. It's basically a wrapper around a function already in the OS together with a tween library. The only thing f.lux does is control a hidden API

I don't think you can kill it in the same way you can't force Intel to stop selling CPUs because they enable piracy. There is loads of emulators out there that would get shutdown if it were true.

Genuinly interested in understanding your viewpoint. If you have some time, please elaborate. I have always been under the impression that municipal fiber to consumers has the best benefits in the long run but I might have missed something.

The Swedish developed train X2, launched 1990 in Sweden as X2000 is still in service and is using tilting technology to increase speed. It's been running the most popular commuter line (Stockholm <-> Gothenburg) for 25 years at 2

Pricing is fine. Tech support is a joke. I wish I could pay more for Google to actually offer good support. We tried GCE for a while but it just didn't cut it in terms of mean response time to questions. AWS really leads on support.
