Thank you for pointing this out. I might say "hey it's a standard bootstrap site, must not be much of a designer" but at least I'll be able to read the content.

Agreed, I'm a big fan of Java and have written client software with it but the annoyances are rapidly beginning to outweigh the benefits. Bad press, awful UI support on OS X, Web Start's seeming disappearing/reappearing act... What's the p

Couldn't agree more. I'll also be the first to admit though that some commit messages I've sent off after particularly infuriating bugs have had language that my mother would slap me for (and not very helpful, to boot). We're only human

As mentioned, this page has been up for ages (I've actually read it previously). At this point its sort of pointless, it is normally referred to as 'Postgres' by people giving PG talks at conferences and such.

Does anyone know if an 'official' entity is being referred to by the term United Nations on page 2? I suppose it could've been close enough to the end of the war that the wheels were already in motion for the UN..

What's most perplexing to me is how/why shreddings from a police department in a suburban police department came to be used, considering the relative size of the NYPD. Unless the floats and everything relating to the parade were prepared on

Crappy infrastructure != crappy code and web application design. - No API for app reviews? Business decision. - No API for app rankings? Business decision. - No API for... you get my point. If apple saw a reason to have these things, they'd

This was a bit of a bust for me as well. Talking about Apple's web services being terrible and then slamming the technology that has made them oodles of money and rarely - if ever - has problems... It seemed a bit extreme.

The claim that not all of the information is collected in the same place rings false to me. The Wiki, as noted, is rich in information. If you want concise, the http://switch2osm.org is an awesome resource.

Asking how someone would go about solving a problem is a good question to ask but simply can't replace making sure the candidate can write code. Imagine hiring script-kiddies instead of actual hackers. As an aside, did anyone else see th
