As an alternative to gc you can page through selections with parens and alt-space to dismiss individual selections. its also easier to compose filters, eg matching all lines that contain regex A and B regardless of order. doing that with vi

One could take a glance at these and easily believe that they do the right thing. I don’t think that no one would accidentally miss such a small error from time to time.

try = ? in rust. catch = match in rust. Zig does have its own general match statement, and the reason it needs a catch is because errors in Zig aren't actually ADT's, but it's not that much more complex. And you're reall

I still mostly use vim but when I use emacs I prefer plugins like meowmode or godmode which essentially make the modifiers sticky so you dont need to chord.

Well Rust has already passed 1.0, so it makes sense that it's more stable. Rust is also twice the age of Zig.

Nice notes, I’ve also been using Zig for AoC. Instead of that queue, I prefer to use std.fifo.LinearFifo, which instead of being backed by a linked list, is backed by a simple ring buffer. This buffer can either be statically allocated, dyn

Basically most methods of solving go from more intuitive phases to more algorithmic phases. Cubers plan the intuitive phase earlier on in inspection, but the later phases is mostly pattern recognition. So there is still decision making but

Rather than traits like what Rust has, the approaches I've generally seen for polymorphic behavior are explicit "interface" structs that hold a vtable, or comptime "duck-typing". I'm still rather new to Zig so

This game is pretty fun. A lot of people say it's not intuitive, but you just need to learn basic color theory then you can start making reasonable guesses. Also I agree that "hard" mode is easier. Normal 6/6: XXX YXX XG
