Just adding my +1 to this issue. iPhone 12 mini at 83% health is really low after such a short period of time.

It's speed sensitive. I just tested in the notes app and was able to move down 6 lines moving slowly or 10 lines moving quickly.

This. It’s one of those sticky features that keeps me on 1P, but as soon as bitwarden matches it Im out. Looks like we’re getting really close.

Ditto, but the fact that they still can’t handle more than ~300k files is a long-standing problem they have yet to solve. I have close to a million syncing files and startup time for the app takes about 20 minutes on a brand new MBP, and CP

I’m fully in the camp who believes critical, top-level security should not co-exist with npm pulling dozens of 3rd party libraries which each pull even more 4th party code. Is there anyone here with a counter argument? Has a security review

Out of curiosity, are there any institutions that meets a “pure” research standard? NIST? Or is that standard unattainable because undue influence exists everywhere?

Very well said. I’ll add that it creates a single point of failure for being hacked as well. Plus it drives me crazy that 1Password doesn’t support it. Anyone know if Bitwarden does?

I also thought you were talking about the Air and had made a mistake when you said “pro”. I just totally forgot about that model until you doubled down.

For me it’s less about app review trust and more certificate revocation trust. Devs aren’t in the clear just because they get past the app review. But in general, yes, I trust apps from the App Store. I haven’t had a reason not to.

People talk about free software but to me there’s the cost of time that’s often overlooked. Submitting bug reports is one way to help “pay” for your “free” software. Sometimes there are usability or productivity or compatibility costs as we

I’m fine with Twitter knowing my identity if I can keep my account publicly anonymous … for the reasons stated in the linked article. Seems like a good balance.

Answering for myself, backups. My SO and I both WFH. We generate a lot of data, personally and professionally. Most of that backs up to a local server, which then backs up to two off-sites. That server also backs itself up (plex, etc.). I h

Same, but if I’m being honest, I won’t check it out. There’s so much competition in this space that I don’t need to. I paid for Pixelmator Pro recently because I needed to do a repetitive task. It comes with several useful Automator actions
