When I heard about this project, they were using Skyrim Script Extender code without permission[0] (and denying it) and made a lot of money from it (which the SKSE people feared could get them in legal trouble with Bethesda). I hope this ha

> Penguins don’t implement the “fly” method that can be found in birds. Yep. That would be like having immutable lists which implement List which has an "add" method. Obviously that would be too stupid for a sensible programmin

"finally" in Java and afaik "val" in Kotlin because of it are a bit of a sham: They work fine for primitives, but for reference types only apply to the object identity. You can still mutate the pointed-to object willy-ni

I don't know GScript, but wouldn't it be enough to know which methods are declared in GScript (and not allow overloading for these)? Then type inference can work fully most of the time and only give up when calling non-Java code.

The problem is less that it doesn't provide an implementation, but more that it doesn't allow anyone else to provide an implementation either (aside via code generation).

Additionally to the lack of generics, all references/pointers in Java/Go can be null/nil (so you can't express that a reference points to something) and all fields are zero-initialized (so having every field set to zero

That was the same conclusion I came to when I tried it. Freenet works, but it's slow and there's barely anything there. Unfortunately, a big draw to use a network is how many users it already has.

I wouldn't say that it has deeper worldgen, but because it replaces voxel terrain with a lower lod after a certain distance, the world has a feeling of massive scale. You can see a far away mountain range on the horizon and actually jo

AFAIK one other thing to note is that in Linux userspace, malloc (or fork) might succeed, but accessing the memory later can fail because of memory overcommit.

Apparently wgsl was created because SPIR-V isn't well suited for being an intermediate representation to target graphics APIs other than Vulkan itself. Some notes of intrest: https://kvark.github.io/spirv/2021/

Afaik for the WebAssembly MVP, the goal was to have a simple, efficient compile target - therefore only integers and floats. To make wasm more useful & easier to integrate, the plan calls for interface types[0], which allow both accessi

I've just started the same, it's definitely fun. One thing that surprised me about field resolution is that a class can have multiple fields with the same name (if they have different types).
