I had a RMBP 15 2017 version and recently switched to Arch Linux on Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th Gen. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. I do miss some of the multi-touch gesture stuff, but I've gotten used to

I made this exact same switch a few months ago! RMBP 15 to Thinkpad X1 Carbon + Arch Linux. I've loved it but I do miss the trackpad (although I've adjusted my workflow to use physical buttons now + thinkpad's trackpad). I al

I highly highly recommend everyone read Deep Work by Cal Newport - http://calnewport.com/books/deep-work/ The key concept Cal talks about that's relevant for this discussion is "attention residue".

It's quite common for people to start with just $1k and do well and get to that kind of money. I'd recommend doing some research before just jumping to conclusions: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeff-meyerson-05

I'd personally really like for code to go away / not need to use it. It's an important bootstrapping step, but really only the hardware of the 60s and 70s more / less needed text, files, and source code. With the physica
