You say that like they're mutually exclusive! One project, a custom Ethereum based coin was running behind on time - like way, way behind. A DB based system was delivered as a prototype (where I noticed floats were used for transaction

Nothing has to be broken for a startup or a big corp to attempt to make money themselves. There's money to be made in offering choices - enough money to justify the expenditure in getting something new up and running, seemingly. Speaki

I'll link the the mention of the optimised versions, but that's not what I mean! Say earlier model XYZ trained 4 epochs per hour, and BERT trained 2 epochs per hour. Now on a single card if you can train optimised BERT for 4 epo

When I take a month off work, towards the end I feel the need to be productive again, more than anything, even if the travels I'm doing are very exciting and satisfying. Maybe the timeframes would differ for people, but I doubt many pe

I wasn't being dismissive of their accomplishments, just was bringing up the fact that since this is out of most of our expertise areas, we will likely be less skeptical of the post from the get go.

Mind you, this is an optimised version of BERT, from what I could see in their blog post.

Have you looked at Apex.Amp? TF32 sounds to be along similar lines, and the PyTorch usage is a breeze.

This is more of a tech forum, so we can see through that bullshit. Not as many doctors or physios here, so everything linked is correct :)

Anecdote, but I've known 3 people that would constantly label themselves an empath. 2 of them had very strong sociopathic tendencies, or utter disregard for others (that hey weren't trying to get in the pants of).

Thanks for the info! Did some reading and I can see plain reverb being time invariant indeed :) I never realised chorus pedals did more than just stack frequency offsets onto your signal, but I only really play distorted so choruses are of

Ah righto, the reverb pedal I'm most familiar with turns out to not be just reverb - EQD Afterneath does a whole bunch of funky stuff. Plain reverb though, yeah. I was approaching this more from the angle of training a neural network,

Reverb is time invariant? You can set custom decay time, rate etc, so the one not can be heard for say, 10 seconds if you want to go full Devin Townsend. I'd think Chorus would work better. I wanted to do a very similar project, but wi

Nvidia's apex.amp does just this - attempts half-precision training where possible, and adjusts scaling factors during training. I achieved a very significant speedup using this on my RTX 2080 Super, though it doesn't support Wind

From what I heard it works fine on Android, but on iOS it works ok... as long as you have the app running in the foreground, and your phone unlocked, while out and about. The only way to fix that would be to use this new API on iOS.

Yeah in Python you can do, say, a = b = [] But then the two lists are the same, and appending to one appends to the other. Not particularly useful.

So say I'm close to maxing out my 8c/16t CPU, would a better alternative be a 16*4; 64Ghz single core processor? Why? You wouldn't have true parallelism then, would you? So if you have something, for whatever reason, blocking

That is a lot more effort than re-building the game, isn't it? At that point, just make your own game, or easier yet, play another one.
